Art and Design in Movies!!! Evaluating Movie Trailers!
I know this isnt a Design post as such but I just wanted to feature some of the awesome trailers for some Blockbuster movies that are coming out. When I say ‘design post’ I mean I am not posting inspirational pictures etc. but it is still relevant as these sorts of movies can inspire pictures to create and the detail placed into movies now-a-days is remarkable. Special Effects have blasted off and are so realistic it makes you think that there is a chance that some of things could be real. The special effects in movies are the same principal as when creating a surreal picture. You still want the picture to be photo-realistic BUT you want to convey your creativity and personal touch. It all ends up relying on how much time you are willing to spend on each picture and whether you want t0 whip a picture and pay no attention to detail or if you want to create a piece of art that really makes the viewer feel like they are there. Here are some trailers that take art to another level. My Top 10 Favourite Light Painting Photographs
In one of my Art subjects that I am doing I am doing the theme ‘Advertising’, this is a very hard theme to do for art especially if you want to explore different mediums like painting, stenciling, lino-cutting etc but I decided to incorporate some photography into my theme. Then it occured to me that I should do some advertising for my clothing brand ‘Ruse’ and this was the perfect opportunity for me to do some!!!! But I didnt want to do just some ‘average’ photography, i also wanted to do something that I have never done before and something that would be a challenge to me, then I found ‘Light Painting’ and I thought, this is absolutely fantastic stuff, it could look really cool on some advertising pieces and then it sprung the images in my head. I wanted to do a little bit of research into this so I looked around on deviantART and on behance and I have found some truly inspirational pieces. ‘Ruse’ New Clothing Line!!!!!!!!
Hey everybody,
I have decided to start a new clothing line with comic, typography and misc. designs for sale. The brand is still in the developmental stages so hang tight but hopefully I will have some designs coming to you soon. Please get the word out about this, hopefully I will be releasing graphics and images of what will be on the tees and hoodies as they come as sort of a teaser of whats to come.
The store will (hopefully, if the printers agree) host a range of tees, hoodies, stickers and whatever comes to my mind.
There will be a cool store as well provided by the awesome BigCartel.com
I have a logo that has been finalised but please note that this is not the only logo that will come out. Other, probably more creative will come out,on differant sites etc. Hope you all like it!!!!!!
UPDATE: ‘Chariot of Fire’ and ‘Cyborg Dreams’
Hey people,
It’s been a while since I have updated this but I have been very busy lately with school stuff and working etc.
The 2 pictures above are my latest works. The first picture is entitled ‘Chariot of Fire’. The inspiration to create this picture came about believe it or not by Pokemon. I saw on deviantart a picture of a ‘real life’ pikachu and it gave me the idea that most of the Pokemon are based upon real animals and that is certainly the case with Ponyta which is what I based my picture on. The was an experiment to see how i could manipulate fire to make it look real in the daytime. I think that the picture looks reasonably like a ‘real life’ versionof the Pokemon Ponyta.
The second picture is called ‘Cyborg Dreams’. This picture was more based on some feelings that I have had recently and wanted to visualise them graphically. It represents our desire to reach the top of where or what we want to be but not being able to. If only we had that ‘extendable arm’ to reach our goals and ambitions then we would all acheive what we want. This picture was also an experiment to see if i could make a realistic picture from an un-realistic concept per se. I spent most of the time creating the arm area as well as creating the shadows which i found to be particularly hard. I am quite happy with the end result because I was nearly about to give up on it but I gave it another go and I found my way through the problem resulting in the end picture.
I possibly might be making some more pictures along this line but I’ll have to see how time goes

2009 Wallpaper for Download!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Happy New Year to everybody. 2008 has flown by so quick and I imagine that 09 will to. I wish everybody a great year and I hope that 09 will be a prosperous year for everyone and some good will come out of it!!!! Typically I have had to work on New Years Day but I get extra pay so it is all good.
I am looking forward to the New Year and the suprises that it will bring, one of the first things I am looking forward to is seeing the finalists for the PSDTUTS.com competition to design a Movie Poster. The competition has now finished (I presume) and hopefully they will announce the winners/finalists soon. I have devoted and put a LOT of time and effort into this project so hopefully some good will come of it but from looking at the other entries it will certainly be a close one!!! If you havent seen I have uploaded another couple of designs so go check em out and if you have a Flickr account then please leave some feedback or something…
I should be putting my first proper ‘art/design inspiration’ post up sometime this week so keep your eyes peeled for that. Plus I am still deciding whether to create a wallpaper for people to download in the spirit of the New Year so drop a comment or opinion on whether I shoul or shouldn’t.
Anyway I think that is all that I have to say so everybody have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hope everybody had a fantastic Christmas day and hopefully everybody is looking forward to the New Year!!!!
I should have posted this before Christmas but anyway. The year 2008 has just flown by and I imagine that 2009 will be just as quick. Hopefully in 09 I will be adding new things to the blog like tutorials and downloads for people and hopefully i will be adding more stuff to the store for people to buy (maybe ill get my first sale 
). Anyway I feel like 09 will be a good year and I hope that everybody else will be getting that vibe.
Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions on what I should add to this blog or if you have any news or just ANYTHING please let me know.

Entry to PSDTUTS contest!!!
Hey people,
Today I have been heavily involved in doing my first entry to the PSDTUTS Contest to make a ‘post-apocalyptic’ movie poster.
After around 6-7 hours here is my final design:
Hope you all like it. All i started out with was the bounty hunter girl, the girl behind her, the hands and the monument and the rest I either manipulated or created into the picture.

Contest on PSDTUTS!!!
A new contest on PSDTUTS.com has been posted so i thought I would let people know who havent been on the site before.
